Overview
Eric Wood is Chapman’s Practice Innovations and Technology Partner. As a member of Chapman’s Practice Innovations group, Eric works across the firm's offices and practice groups to research, design, develop and implement legal technology systems for Chapman’s attorneys and clients.
Eric has led the design and development of numerous custom software applications, including platforms for transaction management, high-volume contract review, document comparison, multi-document automated drafting and AI-assisted document analysis. His experience also includes coding AI-powered tools for automating contractual review and revision workflows, developing internal- and external-facing document automation systems, building legal expert systems to model legal logic and leading many service design, process optimization and knowledge management initiatives.
Eric draws on significant prior experience in financial transactions, having previously worked as an associate in the Banking and Financial Services Department at Chapman and the Capital Markets group at Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton LLP in New York.
Before attending law school, he worked on legal technology and access to justice projects as an AmeriCorps VISTA Volunteer for Wyoming Legal Services.
