Ashrakat Hassan, a 2L at Washington University School of Law, is the recipient of the seventh annual Chapman and Cutler LLP Maynard H. Jackson Jr. Scholarship.

A former federal prosecutor and bank regulatory enforcement attorney, Liz leverages her financial regulatory counseling and litigation experience to help clients prevent and resolve criminal and civil anti-money laundering (AML), sanctions, and consumer protection matters.

Chapman acted as counsel on the registration and listing of two of the first eight spot Ethereum (ether) exchange-traded funds (ETFs) to begin trading in the United States, following the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) declaring the registration statements for the ether ETFs effective on July 22, 2024.
