Overview

Giovanni de Merich is an associate and member of Chapman's Asset Securitization Department. He focuses on securitization and structured finance transactions, advising clients on warehouse transactions, forward flow transactions, and asset-backed securities across a broad range of asset classes.

Giovanni represents institutional clients as issuer counsel, loan sellers’ counsel, and underwriter counsel in transactions involving auto loans and leases, equipment loans and leases, consumer loans, home improvement loans, recreational vehicle loans, railcar leases, and container leases. His experience also includes advising on commercial mortgage-backed securities (CMBS), non-performing loan (NPL) securitizations, and unlikely-to-pay (UTP) loan securitizations.

Prior to joining Chapman, Giovanni practiced at Sidley Austin LLP in New York and Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe LLP in Rome, Italy.
