Overview
Rachel Waddey is an associate and member of Chapman's Asset Securitization Department. She represents issuers and financial institutions in securitization and structured finance matters involving a variety of asset classes, with a primary focus on auto and equipment receivables and municipal bond fund preferred share financings.
Rachel has worked on several pro bono projects for the National Immigrant Justice Center, including assisting with asylum petitions and coordinating Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) renewals. She also assisted pro bono in preparing a complaint to the United Nations Special Rapporteur on the situation of human rights in the Islamic Republic of Iran.
Before joining Chapman as an attorney, Rachel participated in the firm’s summer associate program and previously served as an Analyst in Chapman’s Finance Law Development Program, where she supported attorneys and professional staff with market research, knowledge management, closings, and deal documentation.

Chapman served as C-PACE counsel to North Bridge ESG LLC in a strategic partnership agreement with The Carlyle Group to provide up to $1 billion to facilitate the origination of commercial property assessed clean energy (C-PACE) loans by North Bridge.
