Overview

Sam Yoo is a partner in Chapman's Asset Securitization Department. His practice is focused on the representation of arrangers, sponsors, and placement agents in a broad range of structured finance transactions, including RMBS, consumer ABS, CDOs, CLOs, bespoke, and synthetic structures.

Sam's experience includes serving as issuer and underwriter counsel on a broad range of consumer ABS transactions and asset-backed commercial paper conduits as well as serving as arranger and manager counsel on a variety of CDO and CLO (cash-flow, market value, hybrid, and synthetic structures) transactions.

Prior to joining Chapman, Sam was director and counsel at Credit Suisse Securities (USA) LLC where he was the primary lawyer for the CLO new issue desk in New York. Sam also acted as the primary lawyer for the bank’s tax equity investment efforts in renewable energy as well as its risk weighted asset optimization efforts.
