Overview

Alex Kress is senior counsel and a member of Chapman’s Banking and Financial Services Department, Special Situations and Restructuring Group, and Litigation Group. Alex primarily represents banks, lessors, and asset-backed lenders in restructuring defaulted or troubled obligations. Alex also represents creditors in workout and bankruptcy matters and reorganization matters, including defending avoidance actions. Many of Alex’s matters involve state and federal litigation, including asset foreclosures, sale proceedings, and other commercial collection matters. He has extensive prior experience representing creditors’ committees, debtors and trustees and has represented non-debtor parties in acquiring assets in bankruptcy proceedings.

Prior to joining Chapman, Alex practiced law at an Am Law 200 firm.
