For the first time in its history the Municipal Securities Rulemaking Board has proposed a “best execution” rule for municipal securities transactions. The MSRB modeled the rule on the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority’s best-execution rule for equity and non-municipal fixed income securities. The MSRB is accepting comments on the proposal through March 21, 2014.
